What happens when I run out of tokens?

For Free Plan users, API requests will return a rate limit error (429 Too Many Requests) until your daily quota is replenished. For Paid Plans, automatic overage kicks in and additional usage is billed in your next monthly invoice.

How do map tiles affect token consumption?

Map tiles themselves do not consume tokens. You can load and display as many map tiles as needed. However, loading the JavaScript Map API consumes 5 tokens per session.

How does the trial period work?

The trial gives you access to the Starter plan features for 30 days completely free, including 200,000 Webservices tokens/month and 600,000 Autocomplete tokens/month. Only one trial is allowed per customer.

Is my data secure and private?

Yes. Cercalia is ISO 27001 certified and fully compliant with GDPR. All data processing occurs within European Union territory.

Understanding Token Consumption

Tokens are the currency of the Cercalia API. Each service consumes a specific number of tokens based on its complexity. Understanding token consumption helps you optimize your usage and choose the right plan.

Token Types

Webservices Tokens

Used for geocoding, routing, maps, and other core API services. This is your primary token pool.

Autocomplete Tokens

Used exclusively for address and POI autocomplete suggestions. Separate pool with 3:1 ratio to Webservices tokens.

Token Ratio: 4 Autocomplete tokens = 1 Webservices token. This means if your plan includes 10,000 Webservices tokens/day, you also get 40,000 Autocomplete tokens/day.
